In the early hours of Monday morning, the fences of the Carmel Mink
Ranch on Route 143 (Peru Road) in Hinsdale, MA were cut and roughly
500 mink from the breeding stock were set free. This is the 4th
time that the Carmel Mink Ranch has been visited, this time causing
at least $75,000 to $100,000 in economic damage.
09/08/1996: Carmel Mink Ranch raided, 1000 minks liberated.
11/10/1996: Camel Mink Ranch raided, 75 minks liberated.
11/28/1997: Carmel Mink Ranch raided, 6 minks liberated.
08/13/2007: Carmel Mink Ranch raided, 400-500 liberated.
It is known that after the first raids, the Carmel's installed an
infra-red security system, which shot beams over the tops of the
cages, so that when a cage is opened and the current is broken,
presumably an alarm would be set off somewhere, but that won't keep
the ALF away! Sick and tired of having your torture camp raided,
Earl, Jeanne and Dan? You know what to do -- shut it down!
